Some weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by phone by California author, Patricia Newman. Patti interviews children's authors and illustrators for a monthly column she writes that appears in regional parenting magazines. Not only is Patti a talented author of wonderful picture books, she visits schools where she inspires kids to keep reading and writing, presents at conferences, does writers' workshops and has interviewed over 100 children's authors and illustrators.
What a thrill to read her profile of "yours truly" in the April issue of California Kids. I was amazed at how much information she got about me from our fun conversation on the telephone. Patti even included a photo of me with our dog, Corky! This woman can really write!! To be in the company of so many esteemed authors and illustrators whose books I was reading to kids at libraries here in Florida, and before that at schools in New York, WOW! Did I ever dream? Thanks, Patti. You sure made my day!
