Are you ready to dig into some good books this summer? Thousands of libraries around the country, including the Martin County Library System, are getting ready to kick off their 2013 Summer Reading Club Programs.
In order to prevent summer learning loss and keep kids engaged during the summer months, it's important to keep them reading.
This year the summer reading theme is “Dig Into Reading” and I will be reading my two latest books, What’s in the Garden? and The Tree That Bear Climbed (a really good fit with the “digging” theme) this month at three Martin County Libraries:
In Jensen Beach at Hoke Library on Wednesday, June 12
In Palm City at Cummings Library on Tuesday, June 18
In Stuart at Blake Library on Wednesday, June 19.
Books will be available for autographing after the program and proceeds benefit the Martin Friends of the Library.
So have fun with us as kids make the connection between the natural world and what we eat. What’s in the Garden? will stimulate kids’ appetite for exploring the world of gardens as well as stimulate their appetite for good, fresh food. And as together we read the cumulative verse of The Tree That Bear Climbed kids learn how a tree grows. Hope to see you!
